The disc has a friction ring formed by friction ring halves (3), where each friction ring half comprises mating faces (3''). A brake disc pot (2') is formed as a part of a support structure (2), which comprises a carrier ring arranged between the friction ring halves, where the carrier ring comprises reciprocal mating faces (2''). The mating faces of the friction ring halves are welded with the mating faces of the support structure. The carrier ring comprises a cavity structure between the mating faces of the support structure. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a composite brake disc. |
