The invention relates to an internal combustion engine (1) comprising an intake system (3), an exhaust system (4), an exhaust gas recirculating system (5), and at least one turbocharger (6) with an exhaust gas turbine (7) and a compressor (8). A first group (A) of cylinders (2) is associated with a first intake duct (19a) and a first exhaust duct (13a), and a second group (B) of cylinders (2) is associated with a second intake duct and a second exhaust duct (13b). A first exhaust gas recirculating line (14a) branches off from a first exhaust gas duct (13a) upstream of the exhaust gas turbine (7) and opens into a first intake duct (19a) downstream of the compressor (8). A second exhaust gas recirculating line (14b) branches off from a second exhaust gas duct (13b) upstream of the exhaust gas turbine (7) and opens into a second intake duct (19b) downstream of the compressor (8). The first intake duct (19a) has a first resonance tube (21a), and the second intake duct (19b) has a second resonance tube (21b). The aim of the invention is to achieve high exhaust gas recirculation rates in particular in the low speed range in the simplest manner possible and without fuel disadvantages. This is achieved in that the opening regions (22) of the first and the second exhaust gas recirculating lines (14a, 14b) lie at the beginning of the first and the second resonance tubes (21a, 21b), respectively. |
