A spinning nozzle for the manufacture of artificial filaments by the cuprammonium funnel stretch-spinning process comprises a plate provided with spinning nozzle orifices and with a conical protuberance which has no spinning orifices and extends coaxially of the nozzle from the central area of the plate. The protuberance extends far into the conical portion of the spinning funnel and has a surface substantially parallel with the funnel wall. The orifices of the spinning nozzle are preferably arranged in two circles around and concentric with the base of the cone with their centres spaced less than 3 mm. from one another. Filaments spun with such nozzles are more uniformly coagulated and stretched than those spun with known nozzles.
