Heating sleeves are fitted to the external gas reclaim water trap (C) and check valve (B) assembly of a diving bell to prevent the water trap freezing that can hinder the reclaiming of expensive Helium gas during diving operations. The sleeves may be manufactured from Acetal, Delrin, POM-C or POM-H and are shaped and sized to fit tightly over the water trap and check valve assembly. The heating sleeves are completely passive, non-invasive and require no modification to existing equipment, therefore eliminating the single point failure and heat loss introduced by temporary solutions. The sleeves may utilize waste hot water, an impregnated heating mat or coil, or an exothermic chemical gel to provide the heat for the water trap and check valve assembly. The materials utilized in the sleeve construction may be resistant to both hot water and seawater. Even without using a heating medium, the sleeve still provides heat retention and insulation of the water trap and check valve assembly.
