Device and method for producing nanoscale particulate solids and plasma burner

The device has a plasma generation unit (10) i.e. plasma torch, comprising a cathode (11) and an anode (12) between which an electric arc (A) is generated to form a plasma zone in a reaction chamber (14). The unit has a gas supply (13) through which gas e.g. argon and argon/hydrogen mixture, is suppliable in a region of the arc. A supply device (15) supplies a precursor i.e. raw powder, in the plasma zone. Another anode (17) is arranged at a distance to the former anode such that another electric arc (B) is generatable between the cathode and the latter anode and is longer than former arc. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing nano-scale particulate solids.
