PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a structure for communicating between adjacent crank chambers, with an increase of machining man-hours avoided, in a multi-cylinder engine provided with a plurality of support walls respectively having a bearing hole, into which a crank shaft extending along the arrangement direction of cylinder bores is inserted to be pivotally supported, in a crank case and formed with crank chambers indivisually corresponding to the cylinder bore between adjacent walls in a direction along the axis of the crank shaft. SOLUTION: The crank case 19 is formed by connecting an upper case half body 33 and a lower case half body 34 freely to be vertically divided. A notch 84 extending in the vertical direction, opening in the connecting surfaces of the upper case half body 33 and the lower case half body in one end thereof, is provided in at least one of an upper wall part 39a and a lower wall part structuring a specified support wall 39, in which crank chambers 41 are arranged on both sides thereof, out of support walls 38, 39 and 40 provided in the crank case 19, so as to connect the crank chambers 41 provided on both the sides of the specified support wall 39.
