PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system executing a system management function at high speed, and a control method thereof. SOLUTION: In the computer system, a processor core 11 out of process cores 11-18 is set to be or not to be in a management mode. The process core 11 executes management firmware as a management processor when being set to be in the management mode, but operates as a part of a processor of the system in the same manner as the other processors cores when being set not to be in the management mode. A main memory controller 19 of a main processor 10 sets a part of a designated memory area of an area of a main memory 40 as an area accessible from only the processor core 11 set to be in the management mode.
