The present invention relates to method of processing seismic data and other geophysical data such as acoustic or electromagnetic data. In particular, the method is applicable to seismic data extrapolation and migration techniques such as, one-way and two-way wave-equation migration. The method comprises determining, in the space-time domain, an integral of the product of a kernel and a function of the geophysical data over an integration domain from the values of the function at a plurality of discrete data points within the integration domain, by defining a plurality of cells in the integration domain, each vertex of a cell being at a respective one of the data points; obtaining an interpolant of the function over a selected cell using local interpolation; and integrating, in the space-time domain, the product of the kernel and the interpolant for the selected cell. |
