摘要 III An acid-stable wool lubricant or softener comprises an emulsion of a polyethylene glycol 325-850 monoester of a fatty acid having 12-22 carbon atoms, an unsatur ated glyceryl triester of a fatty acid having preferably 12-18 carbon atoms and a con densation product of an ethanolamine with the fatty acids of a vegetable oil. The polyethylene glycol monoester may be the monoester of oleic acid with a polyethy lene glycol of molecular weight 400-450. The glyceryl ester may be a natural oil, e.g. peanut oil or mustard seed oil, and the ethanolamine condensation product may be the condensation product of diethanol amine with coconut oil fatty acid in equi molecular proportions. The composition may also include a pale paraffin oil and free oleic acid and may be applied to raw wool or worsted fibres prior to picking, carding and spinning, after the back wash ing operation, or at the first or second pin drafting operation, and may remain on the fibres of the woven, knitted or felted fabric at the fulling stage. Prior to fulling the fabric is carbonized, in which process sulphuric acid is used for the liquid treat ment. If the lubricant is removed by a liquid treatment before fulling, the compo sition is reapplied to the fabric immedi ately before fulling or is added directly to the fulling liquor. The fulling liquor is an aqueous solution of an alkyl ether of a polyethylene glycol 325-850 monoester of a higher fatty acid in which the alkoxy group may have 1 or 2 carbon atoms, e.g. the ethyl ether of polyethylene glycol 350 monolaurate. After fulling the fabric is scoured and rinsed in fresh water or an aqueous bath containing ammonium hydroxide or sodium carbonate.ALSO:An acid-stable wool lubricant or softener comprises an emulsion of a polyethyleneglycol 325-850 monoester of a fatty acid having 12-22 carbon atoms, an unsaturated glyceryl triester of a higher fatty acid having preferably 12-22 carbon atoms and a condensation product of an ethanolamine with the fatty acids of a vegetable oil.
