A method for producing new medicines wherein organisms or cells 1 which are a known producer of medicines are exposed to offending medicine resistant organisms or cells 3 until they are almost destroyed 4 then offending organisms or cells are killed with an organism or cell killing substance or radiation 5 to kill the offending organisms or cells and not the organisms or cells to enable surviving organisms or cells to reproduce 6 enabling inherited resistance to be harvested after the steps are repeated a sufficient number of times so that the organisms or cells can kill the offending organisms or cells without help. The organisms or cells may be fungi or mould and the offending organisms or cells may be bacteria and the organism or cell killing substance may be bleach or phages. This method may also be used to develop new antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals, antiparasitics and anticancer drugs.
