Lever-actuated pumps ; stroke, varying; regulating delivery.-For adjusting the injection period of liquid fuel in internal-combustion engines, the stroke of the pump plunger 1 is varied by means of a fulcrum block 14 adjustable by a screw 15, 21 along the actuating-lever 9 which is pivoted at 11 and engages a cam 7, a roller 13, in the block 14 bearing against a second lever 10 pivoted at 16 and carrying a block 5 bearing on the plunger 1. The lever 10 is further connected to a rod 18 which is formed with a cam 19 adapted to open the suction valve 3, or by-pass valve, at a certain point in the stroke. A further adjustment may be provided in the rod 18, comprising a turn-buckle 23 actuated by a handle 24 or a governor. |
