METHOD FOR MELON BREEDING USING SINGLE AND DOUBLE CROSSINGS

Disclosed is a method for melon breeding using single and double crossings. In breeding for increasing mean fruit weight a method of single crossing is used providing that the maternal form is more large-fruited and the paternal form has middle or large fruits. In breeding for high soluble solids content a method of double crossing is used providing that the parental forms have high value of the index.
