摘要 FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: device has a first annular optical system composed of semitransparent and nontransmitting reflectors, inside of which there is a first investigated optically transparent medium and a first laser. The first medium is connected to a source of electric oscillations which generate an electric field therein, orthogonal to the direction of propagation of optical radiation in the medium. The device is fitted with a continuous wave gas laser with plane-polarised radiation, a second annular optical system with a second investigated optically transparent medium and a second laser. The input of the second annular system is connected to the laser radiation and optical oscillations from the output of the first annular system, optical oscillations from the output of which, as well as from the output of the second annular system, are superposed on a photodetector matrix through a first and a second telescope. Outputs of the matrix are connected to a display unit formed on the photodetector matrix with successive sampling of the fringe pattern and to a spectrum analyser. The source of electric oscillations includes a controlled high-frequency generator and a resolver, whose outputs are connected to plates of quadrupole capacitors containing the investigated media. The connection circuit of the source of electric oscillations with the quadrupole capacitors facilitates rotation of the electric field vector in the investigated media in mutually opposite directions with relative wave vectors of the optical radiation. ^ EFFECT: high measurement accuracy and broader functional capabilities. ^ 3 cl, 3 dwg
