The tool has a plate (22) fixed on an accessory front end (50). An adjusting cam (30) adjusts position of a belt idler (54) of the accessory front end, and is rotatably mounted on the plate. A blocking device blocks the cam with respect to the plate, and is carried by the plate. A control device controls tension of a belt (52) of the accessory front end. The control device is arranged on the plate, and comprises a manual drive hammer rotatably mounted on the plate. The blocking device comprises a notched section placed on the cam. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting tension of a belt of an accessory front end.
