PROCESS FOR PRODUCING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

Disclosed is a process for producing a plasma display panel in which a protective layer (9) of a front plate (2) is constituted of a metal oxide formed from at least two oxides selected from magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, strontium oxide, and barium oxide and the metal oxide, in analysis by X-ray diffraction, has a peak present between the minimum diffraction angle and maximum diffraction angle which are attributable to the individual oxides that constitute specific-orientation planes of the metal oxide. The process includes a sealing step which includes: an inspection step in which the conductance of each panel is examined; and a gas flow step in which a dry gas is introduced through a through-hole formed in a back plate (10), so that a discharge space (16) is in a positive-pressure state. In the gas flow step, the dry-gas flow rate is controlled on the basis of the results of the conductance inspection step.
