Upon detecting a peak value from output signals (V1, V2) of either a first or a second magnetic sensor (21, 22), an angle of rotation computation device (20) identifies a pole number of a magnetic pole that the magnetic sensor senses, on the basis of an amplitude compensation table that corresponds to one of the magnetic sensors whereupon the peak value is detected. The angle of rotation computation device next identifies a pole number of a magnetic pole that the other magnetic sensor senses, on the basis of the identified pole number and a magnetic pole identification table. The pole numbers of the magnetic poles that the respective magnetic sensors (21, 22) sense are thus identified, and the angle of rotation computation device (20) compensates for the output signals (V1, V2) of the respective magnetic sensors (21, 22), using amplitude compensation gain (G1, G2) that correspond to the magnetic poles (the pair of magnetic poles) sensed thereby. |
