<p>A refrigerator provided with a cover member which can, even if a semiconductor light emitting element is disposed in a tilted position in order to illuminate the inner side of the refrigerator from the opening thereof, minimize a reduction in the illumination intensity of the light emitted from the semiconductor light emitting element. A refrigerator (100) is provided with: a main box (101) having an opening in the front face thereof; a semiconductor light emitting element (210) disposed on an inner wall of the main box (101) and emitting light to the inside of the main box (101); and a cover member (220). The cover member (220) is provided with a transmission section (221) disposed in such a manner that the transmission axis (A) which is the axis perpendicular to the outer surface of the transmission section (221) facing the inside of the main box (101) is tilted away toward the inner side from the inner wall axis (C) which is the axis perpendicular to the inner wall surface on which the semiconductor light emitting element (210) is disposed; and a support section (222) for supporting the transmission section (221) relative to the main box (101). The semiconductor light emitting element (210) is disposed so that the light axis (B) is aligned with the transmission axis (A) or is offset from the transmission axis (A) toward the opening.</p>
