The invention relates to techniques for identifying motor vehicles. The method includes remotely receiving information about the registration number of a vehicle and the driver of the vehicle by means of interaction between an external electronic device and an electronic device of the vehicle containing the aforesaid information. Using a video camera and/or microphone, video and/or audio information is recorded in the memory of the electronic device of a vehicle and is stored and transmitted to external electronic devices. Using the electronic device of a vehicle, information is exchanged with the electronic devices of other vehicles. Information received from other vehicles is stored in the memory of the electronic device of a vehicle and/or is automatically transmitted to the road safety service. With the aid of the electronic device of a vehicle, information is obtained from external devices, including the electronic devices of other vehicles, which is accessible to the driver and/or passengers of the vehicle. With the aid of the electronic device of a vehicle or an electronic device interacting therewith, the emergency services are called in the event of an emergency. Vehicle information contained in the electronic device of a vehicle is translated into a foreign language. Where necessary, information about a vehicle, including the vehicle registration number, is visually represented on the display of an external electronic device of a representative of the road safety service in a way that distinguishes it from information about vehicles that have not committed any offence. Any change in the visual representation of vehicle information on the display is accompanied by an audio signal. The invention makes it possible to enhance road safety. |
