<p>Disclosed are a compact convenient terminal device to and from which a plurality of terminals can be attached and detached and a terminal system control method, wherein when an extension unit terminal is united with the base unit terminal, the LCD display of the extension unit can be automatically switched to a touch panel screen. Specifically disclosed is a terminal device in which an extension unit terminal (10) provided with an attachment/detachment detection unit (11), an LCD display screen (13), and a short-range wireless communication unit (12) is inserted into and united with a base unit terminal (20) provided with an attachment/detachment detection unit (21), a touch panel (23), and a short-range wireless communication unit (22), wherein the compact touch panel (23) is disposed on the base unit terminal (20) in such a manner that the touch panel (23) overlies the LCD display screen (13) of the extension unit terminal (10) and that the short-range wireless communication unit (12) of the extension unit terminal and the short-range wireless communication unit (22) of the base unit terminal can control and coordinate the communications between the base and extension unit terminals.</p> |
