A gas turbine engine (1) is provided with: a hollow rotor (11) which comprises stages of rotors stacked on each other and connected to each other in the direction of the axis (C) and which forms either a compressor (3) and/or a turbine (7); and a pipe unit (51) which is inserted through the space (29) within the rotor in the direction of the axis. In the gas turbine engine (1), the pipe unit (51) is mounted so that the weight distribution in a lateral cross-section thereof is eccentric relative to the axis (C) of the rotor. The configuration prevents the run-out of a pipe which is provided in the space within the rotor so that the pipe is used for purposes such as the transfer a cooling medium and the arrangement of a cable, and as a result, the gas turbine engine has excellent performance and high reliability.
