<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device capable of efficiently utilizing light from a light emitting element and capable of suppressing the reduction of reflectance caused by the denaturation of a substrate. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device 1 has the substrate 2 formed with a reflection layer 6 for reflecting the light emitted from the light emitting element 8, an overcoat layer 7 formed on the reflection layer 6, and the light emitting element 8 mounted to the substrate 2 via the overcoat layer 7. The overcoat layer 7 is composed of a glass powder sintered body. An absolute value ¾n<SB>1</SB>-n<SB>2</SB>¾ of a refractive index difference between a reflective index n<SB>1</SB>of the light emitting element 8 and a reflective index n<SB>2</SB>of the overcoat layer 7 is equal to or smaller than 0.6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
