PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic shock absorber improving the service life of a ball spline and reducing its size. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic shock absorber 1 includes a support means 9 attaching the upper portion of a housing 7 to a vehicle body. The support means 9 has: four elastic bodies 21, 22 arranged at predetermined intervals so that clearances exist between the adjacent elastic bodies and the adjacent elastic bodies are misaligned one above the other; an intermediate plate 23 brought into contact with the upper surfaces of the lower elastic bodies relatively arranged to a lower side and the lower surfaces of the upper elastic bodies 22 relatively arranged to an upper side, of the four elastic bodies 21, 22; and a mounting plate 24 arranged on the upper surfaces of the upper elastic bodies 22 and provided with mounting bolts 25 to the vehicle body.
