PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of components contributing to weight reduction. SOLUTION: A damper using the inside of a fork body as a reservoir R is provided in the fork body made expandable by a vehicle body side tube 1 and a wheel side tube 2, and includes a cylinder body 3 as a lower end side member and a rod body 4 as an upper end side member. The front fork possesses a reaction force in an extending direction by imparting an air pressure equal to or more than an atmospheric pressure to an air chamber A inside the reservoir R when the fork body is in the most extended state, and a suppressing means for suppressing the reaction force in the extending direction while being brought into the most contracted state to energize the fork body in a contracting direction when the fork body is in the most extended state. The suppressing means has a balance spring formed by winding a coil spring around the outer periphery of the cylinder body.
