PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass ceramic substrate and wiring board with sufficiently excellent strength. SOLUTION: The glass ceramic substrates 11a-11d contain glass and a plate-like alumina filler dispersed in the glass. An aspect ratio of the plate-like alumina filler is 20 or more. A strength ratio of an X-ray diffraction peak of a crystal face (006) to an X-ray diffraction peak of a crystal face (104), of the plate-like alumina filler is 1.0 or more.
