PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To align a liquid crystal panel by considering difference in thermal expansion contraction between liquid crystal panels, when testing a plurality of liquid crystal panels of the same specification. SOLUTION: The first liquid crystal panel is aligned by using three alignment marks on the panel and three cameras on the probe stage, and the alignment of the probe and the electrodes on the panel is checked by using a microscope. Regarding the second and subsequent liquid crystal panels of the same specification, they are temporarily positioned based on the two alignment marks 56, 58, a predetermined deviationΔx is obtained with respect to the third alignment mark 62, and then they are shifted by half in the X direction. Thus, the data side probe 26 and the data electrode 60 are accurately aligned, and alignment error can be prevented even when a large liquid crystal panel is irradiated with a high-luminance backlight.
