PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of achieving a long service life despite an easy manufacturing process. SOLUTION: The device includes two or more counter electrodes on a substrate and a hole-injection transport layer arranged between the two electrodes in the electrodes. In the device, the hole-injection transport layer contains the reaction product of a transition-metal complex, the central metal of the transition-metal complex contains one or more transition metals selected from among the group consisting of at least vanadium, rhenium, platinum, or is a mixture of molybdenum and one or more transition metals selected from among the group consisting of vanadium, rhenium, and platinum.
