PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front body structure of an automobile capable of dispersing input loads to an upper part of a front pillar by raising the bulk of an upper member upwardly while suppressing the increase in weight and cost. SOLUTION: The upper member 3 has a bulk raising part 3a formed so as to be positioned at an upper side than an upper surface 4a of a door belt line reinforcement 4. A reinforcement 20 for forming an independent second closed cross section B expending in a lateral direction of the vehicle at least at an upper wall part 17a of the bulk raising part 3a and a vehicle inner side wall 17b is arranged in the upper member 3. The reinforcement 20 is arranged so that the second closed cross section B faces to the front pillar 2 when seen in the lateral direction of the vehicle, and has a retainer part 20a abutted with a hood hinge mounting seat 17c formed in the upper wall part 17a.
