PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment with a camera which does not require an illuminance sensor, detects brightness of the surroundings using the camera, specifies a situation where a terminal is placed to perform necessary volume setting. SOLUTION: The portable electronic equipment 100 with the camera includes: a casing 122; an in-camera 124 and an out-camera 126 which are arranged on the opposite surfaces of the casing, respectively, and measure light intensity of a field to output an in-camera luminance signal and an out-camera luminance signal at levels according to the light intensity, respectively; a speaker 128 which is arranged on the same surface as that of the out-camera 126 of the casing to output sound; and a volume control part 130 which controls volume of the speaker 128 according to the levels of the in-camera luminance signal and the out-camera luminance signal.
