<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the waveform distortion removing device of an ultra high speed optical pulse. <P>SOLUTION: Frequency chirp having strength being the same extent as the spectrum width is applied to an ultra-short optical pulse by using an optical phase modulator 2 with folding constitution. Optical Fourier transform is achieved by giving group velocity dispersion to this chirped optical pulse by second order dispersion medium 8, thereby, the shape of the spectrum is transformed to a pulse waveform on a time base. Since the spectrum of an optical signal after optical fiber transmission is undistorted, an undistorted pulse waveform can be reproduced by this method, and consequently, waveform distortion of the ultra-short pulse can be removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
