PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device configured to restrain excessive supply of liquid developer, by measuring variations in the thickness of a film in a developer film, which is formed on a developing roller and comprises liquid developer, and the unevenness of toner density. SOLUTION: The developing device 9b includes: a developing roller 91b; a supply roller 92b; a support roller 93b; a developer supply device 94b which can supply liquid developer to a target supply area AR1 near the portion Nb in which the supply roller 92b and support roller 93b abut on each other; a sensor 98b which can measure the density or film thickness in a target area AR3 located between a plurality of corresponding areas AR2 corresponding to the target supply area AR1 via the supply roller 92b in a developer film formed on the surface of the developing roller 91b; and a supply control section 530 for controlling a pump P4b so as to adjust a quantity of supplied liquid developer based on measurement information from the sensor 98b.
