PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both productivity and durability from a viewpoint of phase matching for respective photoreceptor drums when a printing job is terminated in a monochrome process in a printing action mode forbidding switching from a color process to a monochrome process during one printing job. SOLUTION: A phase matching section carries out phase matching of respective photoreceptor drums immediately after printing is terminated by the monochrome process when the printing job is terminated by the monochrome process, in a printing action mode forbidding switching from the color process to the monochrome process during one printing job. Here, the color process indicates a process for printing a color image and a monochrome image by bringing an intermediate transfer drum into contact with all photoreceptor drums and the monochrome process indicates a process for printing the monochrome image by bringing the intermediate transfer drum into contact only with the photoreceptor drum corresponding to black.
