<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost and compact display device having a touch panel that detects coordinates of a position touched by a non-conductive input means. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes a touch panel 120 having a touch surface, and a display panel 130 having a display unit of a display surface parallel to the touch surface of the touch panel 120. The touch panel 120 has a plurality of electrically independent X electrodes XP and Y electrodes YP within a plane parallel to the touch surface, and a plurality of nonconductive spacers 124 spaced apart to form space within the plane. The display panel 130 has a Z electrode ZP disposed to cover a display area of the display surface, a nonconductive layer 133 for supporting the Z electrode ZP, and a transparent elastic layer 132, in this order from a side facing the touch panel. The spacer 124 deforms the transparent elastic layer 132 by touch to the touch surface from the outside, and calculates coordinates by detecting a change in capacity between the electrodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
