PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update firmware without increasing complexity in production man-hour, part cost and version management. SOLUTION: An internal nonvolatile memory 15 of a microcomputer 10 stores firmware to be executed actually. A nonvolatile memory 11 is a spare storage space. If recovery firmware 20 is not stored in the nonvolatile memory 11 at an initial boot, the microcomputer 10 writes the firmware 20 stored in the internal nonvolatile memory 15 to the nonvolatile memory 11 as recovery firmware 20.
