PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition of an ethylene-α-olefin-non-conjugated polyene copolymer rubber system capable of obtaining an electrical insulator excellent in strength. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for the electrical insulator includes components (A)-(D). Component (A) is a copolymer rubber in which rubber component (1) is 60-75 wt.%, rubber component (2) is 40-25 wt.% and the iodine value of the rubber component (1) and the iodine value of the rubber component (2) are≥5 and≤30. Rubber component (1) is an ethylene-α-olefin-non-conjugated polyene copolymer rubber in which the ethylene unit is 50-70 mol%, theα-olefin unit is 50-30 mol% and the iodine value is 10-45. Rubber component (2) is an ethylene-α-olefin-based copolymer rubber in which the ethylene unit is >70 and≤95 mol%, theα-olefin unit is≥5 and <30 mol% and the iodine value is 0-30.
