PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deformation of a channel top plate, while securing a heat transfer area to cooling water of a channel top plate under surface for holding a core melt. SOLUTION: This core melt holding device includes a water supply container 10, a plurality of channel supports 21 extending radially from the water supply container 10, a deformation prevention plate 23 extending radially from a position having a farther distance from the water supply container 10 than the end on the water supply container side of the channel supports 21 between the channel supports 21, and a tilted channel top plate 18 spreading radially from the water supply container 10 with the under surface supported by the channel supports 21 and the deformation prevention plate 23.
