PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that suppresses insufficient supply of liquid developer and also excessive supply of liquid developer. SOLUTION: The developing device includes: a draw-up roller 93b for drawing up liquid developer GB; a developer supply roller 92b on which a developer film GB1 is formed as a result of transfer of the liquid developer GB to its surface; a regulating member 921b for regulating the thickness of the developer film GB1 formed on the surface of the developer supply roller 92b; a developing roller 91b disposed opposite the developer supply roller 92b and holding the developer film GB1 as a result of transfer of this developer film GB1 to its surface; a temperature sensor 601b for measuring the temperature of the liquid developer GB; a draw-up roller rotational drive section 602b for rotationally driving the draw-up roller 93b; a draw-up roller rotational drive control section 621b for making the rotating speed of the draw-up roller 93b equal to or higher than that of the developer supply roller 92b and controlling the draw-up roller rotational drive section 602b so as to alter the rotating speed of the draw-up roller 93b based on the temperature of the liquid developer GB.
