PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid retaining member with an excellent liquid retaining function, an intraocular observation lens, and a manufacturing method thereof.

SOLUTION: In the liquid retaining member with a liquid retaining face, the liquid retaining face includes a liquid retaining area 121 with fine projections and a liquid damming area 122 without fine projections or with fine projections with a pitch larger than the fine projections or with fine projections with outside diameters larger than that of the fine projections. The liquid retaining area 121 is surrounded by the liquid damming area 122.
