<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image forming apparatus, removing a base color without damaging the color reproducibility of the entire image for color image data comprising two or more pieces of color component data read from an original. <P>SOLUTION: The most frequent color which is the most frequently included in the image of the original among a plurality of colors expressed by the two or more pieces of color component data is specified (S1-S2), an individual density conversion table used for converting the respective color component data is generated so as to approximate the most frequent color or the color in its vicinity to white according to the most frequent color (S3).
