PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set as a means for receiving mail containing important contents to a user, and for enabling the user to early recognize mail reception. SOLUTION: A control unit 110 determines whether the received mail contains a specified key word associated with a point, adds the point whenever the specified key word is included, and judges that the received mail is important if a sum of the point being added exceeds a specified point at the time of mail reception by the portable telephone 1000. The control unit 110 decides an informing method for informing the user of the reception of the mail as a specified method to execute the informing method when the received mail has been determined as important mail.
