PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-absorption treatment material having a granular core part enabling determination of test result only after use and a coating layer part covering the granular core part, and free from color development before use. SOLUTION: The coating layer part of the water-absorption treatment material includes 90-96 wt.% of a base material and 10-4 wt.% of an excrement testing material, the excrement testing material contains a porous adsorbent having fine pores and a surface coverage of≥25 wt.% and an excrement testing indicator adsorbed in the fine pores of the porous adsorbent, and the addition amount of the excrement testing indicator is 0.015-0.10 wt.% based on the total amount of the coating layer part.
