<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To timely provide a response of a (H-ARQ) and link quality feedback for end-to-end VoIP calls traversing GERAN air interfaces. <P>SOLUTION: A control scheme using packet headers, which allows GSM (R) EDGE radio access network (GERAN) systems to increase spectral efficiency, in addition to multiplexing techniques such as superposition encoding, multi-user packet transmission, joint detection, and/or joint decoding fastens feedback to reduce voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) frame transmission latencies, thereby providing the hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) timely and decreasing incremental redundancy H-ARQ and link quality feedback latencies. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
