PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell separation apparatus which recovers cells in an activated state and separates fat-derived cells containing stem cells, etc. from fat tissues while guaranteeing the sterilization. SOLUTION: The cell separation apparatus 1 includes: a decomposition treatment unit 2 for digesting a living tissue for producing a cell suspension in which the cells are isolated from the living tissue; a cell concentrating unit 3 for concentrating the produced cell suspension at the decomposition treatment unit 2; a storage container 8 for storing the cell suspension; a conveying path 6 for being connected to the decomposition treatment unit 2, the cell concentrating unit 3 and the storage container 8 to convey the cell suspension; a state amount measuring section 11 for measuring a state amount showing the state of the cell suspension stored in the storage container 8; a cell stimulator 10 for stimulating the cells contained in the cell suspension stored in the storage container 8; and a control section 7 for controlling the degree of stimulation applied to the cells by the cell stimulator 10 based on the measured state amount measured by the state amount measuring section 11.
