PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and quickly selecting an antiviral agent high in reliability in each patient. SOLUTION: The method for selecting the most suitable antiviral agent in each patient comprises using one or more primers specifically recognizing a sequence not participating in the physiological activity of a target protein gene originated from a virus, and detecting the inhibiting effect of the antiviral agent on the target protein expressed in a non-cell protein synthesis system.
