GOLD COLORED METALLIC PIGMENT INCLUDING MANGANESE OXIDE NANOPARTICLE LAYER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gold color metallic pigment with coating of manganese oxide nanoparticles and a method to produce the gold color pigment. SOLUTION: The coated pigment includes an inorganic substrate 12 with surface-anchoring groups, optionally coated with a passivation layer 15, and a manganese oxide nanoparticles layer 18 coating the substrate. The coated pigment further includes an encapsulation layer or a surface property modification layer. The method provides pigments that exhibit brilliant gold color and a highly desirable appearance of real gold without the environmental issues causing by heavy metals. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
