PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volumetric quantification method in medical diagnostic ultrasound, achieving accurate quantification.

SOLUTION: The method includes: acquiring B-mode and flow ultrasound data representing a volume of a patient at a substantially same time;identifying at least two regions of interest in the volume, the at least two regions of interest being flow regions, the identifying being as a function of the B-mode, flow or both B-mode and flow data; and calculating a flow quantity as a function of the flow ultrasound data for the at least two regions of interest.
