PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation system for an engine, capable of efficiently utilizing power generated. SOLUTION: The power generation system includes an ACG 11, a voltage regulator 12, a battery 13, and a headlight 14. A positive side output terminal of the ACG 11 is connected to the battery 13 via a battery power supplying path 32, and an MOSFET 22 is formed on the path 32. A negative side output terminal of the ACG 11 is connected to the headlight 14 via a lamp power supplying path 33, and a thyristor 23 is formed on the path 33. A bypass path 34 connects a portion between the thyristor 23 and the ACG 11 in the lamp power supplying path 33 to a portion between a diode 21 and the ACG 11 in the battery power supplying path 32. In negative side power generation of the ACG 11, when the MOSFET 22 is brought into an on-state and the thyristor 23 is brought into an off-state, the output power from the ACG 11 is supplied to the battery 13 via the bypass path 34.
