PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-carrier information transceiver which further correctly evaluates radio frequency interference (RFI) using disabled tones of both a training signal and a steady state signal. SOLUTION: The multi-carrier modulation transceiver includes a tone manager and a multi-carrier transmitter which disables one or more tones based on a received tone-disable message during at least one training state and assists to determine an obstacle in a communication channel.
