Use of a supported iron-platinum-catalyst for selective hydrogenation of nitroaromatic compounds to corresponding aromatic amines, is claimed, where the nitroaromatic compounds comprise at least a multiple bond comprising carbon-carbon multiple bond, carbon-nitrogen multiple bond or carbon-oxygen multiple bond at substituents of aromatic nucleus.
