PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner that effectively prevents virus and the like from spreading by identifying the occurrence of cough and sneeze, as well as the position thereof two-dimensionally, and performing an intensive cleaning of the air in the most contaminated position. SOLUTION: The air cleaner includes a body provided with at least three microphones 7, and is configured to detect coughing or sneezing sounds among the sounds collected by the microphones 7, and control, according to the sound information, an air-blowing fan 4, a louver 10 for longitudinal directions, louvers 11 for vertical directions, and an ion generator 6. This configuration allows the air cleaner to identify the occurrence of cough and sneeze in the room, as well as the position thereof two-dimensionally, and perform an intensive cleaning of the air in the most contaminated position, and thus, a rapid prevention of virus and the like from spreading is achieved.
