PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fibroin sponge sheet in which the formed pores are large, thereby achieving high permeability of fluids and which also has a high rate of elongation, and a fibroin sponge sheet. SOLUTION: A mixed liquid obtained by adding a water-soluble solvent comprising a small amount of alcohol or polyol to an aqueous solution of fibroin is introduced into a level container with a flat bottom and frozen at a low temperature to a plate-like material.
